BANGKOK—They came to Thailand to visit orphanages in Chiang Mai and to feed children from the slum areas in Cambodia.
MANILA, Philippines - A special Philippine Airlines flight is set to leave early Monday afternoon for Chiang Mai, Thailand to fly home about 200 Filipinos stranded by the political turmoil there that has closed the main airports in Bangkok for nearly a week.
The MD-80 that took off from Kansas City International Airport carried about 120 passengers. Some were headed for Mexico, others to Central and South America.
