(Reuters) - The passenger who said she had a surgically-implanted device in her body and caused a US Airways jetliner to divert to Maine will not face criminal charges in the security scare, prosecutors said on Wednesday.

BANGOR, Maine - Officials diverted a US Airways jet to Maine after a French passenger travelling from Paris to North Carolina handed a note to a flight attendant mentioning that she had a surgically implanted device, prompting concerns about possible terrorism.
