(RTTNews) - An Air Canada co-pilot, who suffered an apparent mental breakdown during a transatlantic flight earlier this year, was replaced in the cockpit by a flight attendant with an out-of-date license for reading airplane instruments for an emergency landing, an Irish investigative report said Wednesday.

DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) -- An Air Canada co-pilot having a mental breakdown had to be forcibly removed from the cockpit, restrained and sedated, and a flight attendant with flying experience helped the pilot safely make an emergency landing, an Irish investigation concluded Wednesday.

Kochi, Nov. 20 : At least 97 passengers and crew of a Sri Lankan Airlines flight from Colombo had a providential escape when the aircraft made an emergency landing at the Nedumbaserry International Airport, near here, this morning following a malfunction in its nose wheel.
